River Rafting and Kayaking in Russia and Siberia
We know, we know! You think, "Who would want to go to that cold, cold,
icy place?" But actually, Siberia is a geographically diverse
area that has beautiful mountains, windswept plains, a famous
forest called the Taiga, and villages populated by warm, curious
people.
Now we invite you to join us in August of 2009 for a two-week journey to the
Altai Mountain region of Siberia and whitewater-raft what
is known as the "princess" of all Siberian rivers, the Katun
River. To absorb the Siberian experience all that is needed
is an appetite for Russian campfires, folk songs, traditional
toasts, rugged mountains, Russian Catamarans, huge river waves,
undisturbed sandy beaches, and finally a behind the scenes
look at the Russian people and their rejuvenation of a neglected
infrastructure.
Cost:
16-day trip, late August to early September 2009, $3,400 (excluding airfare).
