Swiftwater Rescue

SWIFTWATER RESCUE COURSE

Our Swiftwater Rescue classes teach you to better recognize and avoid common river hazards. You will learn self-rescue techniques and rescue techniques to use with other paddlers in distress. The classes emphasizes both personal safety and simple, commonly used rescue skills.

Fundamental and more advanced techniques for dealing with hazards that carry greater risks for both victim and rescuer, such as strainers, rescue vest applications, entrapments, and pins, also are practiced. Scenarios will provide you an opportunity to practice your skills both individually and within a team/group context. Designed for people working on or around rivers or running rivers privately, this course is a “must have” for anyone wishing to engage in paddle sports activities.  This course combines outdoor classroom and scenario-based learning.
