What to Bring to Class

Bring a kayak with flotation, spray skirt, personal flotation device and paddle. If needed, you may rent or rent or purchase this equipment from Rocky Mountain Adventures.

Bring a kayak with flotation, helmet, spray skirt, personal flotation device, paddle, and footwear that stays on your feet (sandals, booties, wet shoes), and a water bottle. In cool weather, you will need a spray jacket and clothing that retains body heat when wet, such as a wetsuit or layers of fleece or wool. Most of this equipment is available for rent or purchase from Rocky Mountain Adventures. Remember, you will get wet, and the water can be cold. On warm days, do not forget sunglasses with a strap and sunscreen.

Bring your personal flotation device, whitewater helmet, a wetsuit or drysuit, and wetsuit booties. Neoprene gloves are beneficial on cold days. Layers of wool, fleece, or other synthetics are often recommended as the water is usually very cold and we will be in the water most of the time.

We provide a personal flotation device, helmet, splash jacket, wetsuit, wetsuit booties, and paddle. Bring clothing appropriate for the weather, such as layers of wool, fleece, or other synthetics. If you have a dry suit, bring it.

The rental package includes a Farmer John wet suit, booties, and spray jacket. the price for the package is $12.00. The price for the package with gloves is $13.00. Items are available for rent separately (i.e., a wetsuit is $9.00, a pair of booties is $4.50, a spray jacket is $4.50, and gloves are $2.50). Although Rocky Mountain Adventures attempts to keep enough of these items on hand, reservations are encouraged. To reserve a wetsuit rental package, the full price of the rental is required when the reservation is made.
